Jewish neighbourhood watch group Shromrim has received a substantial grant from Barnet Council to continue its work in north west London.

The £63,500, sponsored by Conservative Councillor Dean Cohen, is in recognition of the increased demand for the charitable organisation’s services and unprecedented incidents of anti-semitism since October 7th.

The grant is in addition to the recent £45,000 sponsored by Councillor Cohen for Hatzolah NW.

Councillor Dean Cohen said: “Supporting organisations like Shomrim NW and Hatzolah NW is vital for the well-being and safety of our community.

“Over the last decade, we have seen much community growth with new housing developments, especially for the most vulnerable.”
